October Recommendation: Ready or Not

 

                                   I can't describe the excitement I'm having right now especially for a movie I was looking forward to recommending since close to a year ago. Since where now during Halloween season, it’s always traditional to recommend a Horror based film, specking of tradition. Ready or Not in a brilliant horror film about a richer than God type family who have very not so good qualities about them. Staring Hugo Weaving's niece Samara Weaving along with Adam Brody who I thought did a fantastic job in this as well as Andie McDowell. Now, I'm very picky when it comes to the horror film genre I really am, for many reasons that they're times I look at a scary film and I look to it as what would scare me the most nothing to over the top like Eli Roth does with his movie or any of the Conjuring films especially where they had the worst title ever "The Devil made me do it". So anyway, enough talk because I'm getting way ahead of myself here lets finally talk about this amazingly well-crafted horror film I'm recommending for the month of October. 

                                   Grace (Samara Weaving) couldn't be happier after she marries the man of her dreams at his family's luxurious estate. There's just one catch -- she must now hide from midnight until dawn while her in-laws hunt her down with guns, crossbows, and other weapons. As Grace desperately tries to survive the night, she soon finds a way to turn the tables on her not-so-loveable relatives.

                                  What I love so much about the movie is the fact that it’s something new and something different in the world of Horror, as I said many times before when it comes to Horror and suspense it really has to be a blend of both, no fancy thrills just some good and simple scares that can put the audience on the edge of their seats. Furthermore you really don't have to use so much gore like Eli Roth does in his movies and don't get me wrong there some WTF moments in the movie but there used in the best ways not just being disgusting all the time. But in all honestly if you ever want to make a scary movie you always must have a half and half of both suspense and horror to grab your audience’s attention. Re-watching the movie in order to prepare for the recommendation, I learned saw new things but that's what I love is that the more I would watch this great film, I learned something new moreover the more I get to talk about it and I haven't seen Psycho for quite a long time but I would probably pick up some little things I haven't seen in quite a while. What also makes this film amazing is that the whole film is set within a full landscape of the mansion, with the possibility of no escape and no way to out run the crazy family, for which brings the great concept of not being able to contact the outside world, especially when you have a crazy family on your tail, that's what makes it so amazing. Now this is in fact a scary film, but it also has some comedic moments in the film and will get to those in a bit especially with Adam Brody because he deserves some great praise for his performance in the movie. But right now I'm going to spend some time talking about Samara Weaving, this is probably the first time I've noticed her in terms of movies I've seen her in moreover I had no clue her Uncle was Agent Smit aka Hugo Weaving, but she does in outstanding job playing the heroine whose a bit clueless then becomes traumatized of what is happening but then becomes fearless at times and she does it in the best ways possible, and this is up to with roles like Ellen Ripley and Sidney Prescott, furthermore she does in all in a wedding dress throughout the entire movie. Adam Brody does in amazing job in this film for many reasons he plays a character that at first realizes what really his family is all about and yet is haunted by this at a young age but in conflicted at what to do in these moments of the movie and Brody does a great job at that, moreover I'm glad he's getting some good work because this is coming off a long road from starting off in The O.C. I'm not going to go in further detail on what makes this film amazing because I don't want to spoil this for all of you that haven't seen it, but if you’re looking for a different and new kind of Horror movie to watch this Halloween, I would highly recommend watching Ready or Not this is hands down one of the best and defiantly in my to five best horror movies of all time, despite the fact that this film was flown under the radar but defiantly needs to be seen because this was freshly new and different and had a great time watching this film and without a doubt one of my monthly Halloween movies to watch. And here's the sad thing, now that I've recommended this great film to watch on Halloween season, I don't know what other scary movie to recommend next year because there's nothing that can top Ready or Not.   

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

 

                          Where during Halloween season, so I figured why not talk about a movie that's both a superhero film but also has a scary spin to it. Unfortunately, this is one of the first times ever when it comes to watching a movie moreover witnessing a twist that I wasn't a big fan of I yelled out "f**k you" to my own TV. Batman: Gotham by Gaslight is a unique and surprisingly great story of what would happen if Batman existed in the 19th century and fought Jack the Ripper, for which is based on the graphic novel and was kind of a turning point to the DC Universe where they can introduce alternate universes. While the graphic novel was in excellent read, all I can say about the film was, that its kind of like a navel destroyer whose about to destroy a submarine until the submarine launches its final torpedo and all of a sudden the destroyer fails to maneuver. 

                           Simplest stories as they come Batman is trying to discover the truth behind Jack the Ripper, with the help of Alfred and Selina Kyle. But in the world of Gotham you can never trust people, especially when they're the allies you trust the most.

                           Loved the Graphic Novel don't get me wrong, but their certain twists and turns that I can look at a movie and I just permanently hate for which destroys the entire film for me. And in all honestly the film itself wasn't all that bad to be truthful and there were moments where I liked and predicted, because again I've read the novels so I knew certain elements that were coming, but what I also liked was the fact that all three main Robins were in this movie (Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake) for which I thought that was pretty cool because I always thought all three should be together with Batman but up until that point I didn't realize that story element but now I kind of wished they should incorporate that for future Batman stories. Now, what I don't like most about the movie was that and I'll try as best as I can not to spoil the movie for you, was the reveal of who was Jack the Ripper, and to me that was the point where I was almost close to saying f**k you out loud but I couldn't due to my neighbors next door but it was just one of those reveals that was like hell no I cannot support that because I would never in a million years believe that person would be Jack the Ripper and I was wanting to shut it off but I'm already in hour in fifteen minutes in so there's no going back, but that was just then I automatically hated the movie. So if you’re looking for a Halloween movie to watch in your own free time, you can go nuts in watching this animated movie but I must warn you this will make you hate it near the end of the story, even if you’re not a Batman fan.  

                           

Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms

 

                        Well hey everybody, we have another sequel to the Mortal Kombat Legends series and surprisingly enough, was still an entertaining movie from start to finish. Moreover, you also get some great humor to come along with the movie also there's a bit of things that I liked what they did more than the live action Mortal Kombat film. Although I will say this I do in fact enjoy last year’s Mortal Kombat film but I do think it was great that they finally gave Liu Kang the spotlight on this film unlike the first film where it focuses on Scorpion which is fine with me but I truly think that whenever you start out with the story of Mortal Kombat, you should always focus on the Luke Skywalker of MK Universe. Anyway, I'm getting way out of hand when it comes to talking so let’s get right into the fight.

                          With Outworld trying to invade Earthrealm, Sho Kahn and Raiden proposes a final tournament that will seal the fate of Earthrealm. Scorpion on the other hand is on the run from the mad God Shinnock who’s trying to bring pieces of a special artifact that will resurrect the One Being that could bring death upon the world. With the fate of the world resting on the balance only Liu Kang and his allies can bring about peace and prosperity.

                          I do like all the new things they bring to the sequel moreover I think they kind of in a sense over crammed it, in terms of length and story. What I do love about it, is that both Raiden and Sho Kahn act like reasonable men, sure Kahn is without a doubt a tyrant and dictator but he does know when to bring fairness when it comes to war even if the mother f**ker is tough to kill, sorry just having some PTSD flashbacks of MK9 on the PS3. What I like about Raiden is that no matter how powerful he is he's still human inside of him even if he chooses to sacrifice his own. The other thing I like about the movie is Scorpion becomes more of the voice of reason when he interacts with the younger Sub-Zero, when it comes to fighting each other than accepting they must work together. I will say that they did crammed both storylines of the sequel games and not given enough length or timeframe of the movie and I still wish they at least improve Johnny Cage's character because the way I look at Cage I always think of him as the Bill Murray when it comes to comedic sense of humor. But in the end the movie does save itself with the best line in the whole movie where Sonya yells at Cage "Don't be such a baby, it's just a kick in the nuts", in which I need to applaud whoever wrote that line because that's one of the best one liners I've ever heard in the entire Mortal Kombat Universe. I honestly don't think that you need to watch the first movie, but I would recommend doing so just to get a full head up. All and all both cartoon films are excellent in their own way and I would highly recommend watching them if you’re a Mortal Komabt fan. 

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: Replay Review

 

                                Do you ever have the feeling in life, we're you accomplished something, and it felt like you climbed Mount Everest. Well, replaying Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, which includes the story missions and the entire side missions and the DLC. Well I am not going to lie when I say this that this was defiantly my climb to Mount Everest and now I officially don't want to revisit Renaissance Rome anymore, and that's a full fledge truth the next time I play AC Brotherhood is probably when I get old and grab this from the attic and play. Anyway, all jokes a side I have to say replaying this great game was much fun than the last time I played it, for many reason's the first time playing it I was more concerned about the story mode than I was with all of the side missions plus the exploring aspects of the game. And now doing everything that the game contains I now have a full fledge respect for the character of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. So, let's step right back into the Animus and travel back to Renaissance Rome.

                                Set after the events of the second AC game. Ezio having beaten Pope Alexander IV (Rodrigo Borgia), Ezio finally prepares to remove Templar rule, unfortunately Pope Alexander IV children, led by Cesare Borgia attacks Ezio's villa of Monteriggioni. Being saved by his own allies Ezio realizes he can't defeat his enemies alone; he needs to build an army. Ezio develops a new plan to break the heart of the Templar order, financially and to do whatever is necessary to recover the Apple of Eden so no one will ever know of its existence.

                                The huge difference I can say when I first played AC Brotherhood years ago to now is that I wasn't all big on the expanded world of gaming I was just more into the historic visuals and the storyline of Assassin's Creed universe especially when they killed off the most important character Lucy or Kristen Bell (who guides our protagonist Desmond Miles throughout the game), for which now when I look back on it, that was probably a sad thing for many reasons, this is the only time I see her acting via video game presents because in real life she's not all that great especially now that she's married to Dax Shepard. Anyway, all jokes a side, it’s crazy replaying the game now and just getting a grasp and feel of how they game designers and programmers can take something so simple and be able build a huge world. Even with using both software on the PS3 and X-BOX 360, were compared to today’s games where they look nothing compared to games now where it still looks very pixilated or more like a game out of the PS2 era. I don't care what anyone says, when it comes to playing games that's premise focuses solely on the medieval Europe or Renaissance Italy it's always fun no matter what because of the amount of weapons you can use to kill your enemies because as we all know a sword is always the coolest weapon to have but when you disarm someone whose carrying a axe or halberd it's always a blast doing these little things. This will defiantly be the last time I ever say this again but binging on the Showtime show The Borgia's I have to say really paid off when it came back to the two titles of Assassin's Creed, AC2 and Brotherhood because I began to understand the world in its conflict and most importantly the historical figures that have a part to play when it comes this storyline. Years ago, I never understood the impact Ezio had in terms of character wise mainly because I didn't understand why we were continuing his storyline when I figured the developers would like the first game introduce a new Assassin that we can follow in a new adventure and new world, now after finishing Brotherhood I truly why the character of Ezio is so loved by fans because he's a man who at a young age is so consumed by vengeance for all of the wrong that has happened to his family but then he began to see that the fight was never about vengeance but more of concealing knowledge from those would use that knowledge against humanity, furthermore believing with the fact that most people don't want to know the truth and to let humanity decided of how they want to go on with their lives, because as we all know when it comes to the Assassin's and their Creed fight for free will of humanity is the most important fight out there. So, I'm not going to lie going back into replaying Brotherhood was fun but it also had its moments where I didn't want to play anymore but that's the reason why I consider Brotherhood my Mount Everest of accomplishments so as of now I'm officially taking a break from anything Assassin's Creed for a while because that almost killed me when it came to spending way too much time in that whole world.               

Jolt

 

                     

                        So after my buzz kill experience with Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard I decided to look for another movie to watch and sure enough I decided to watch this film on Amazon Prime called Jolt staring Kate Beckinsale. And strangely enough, this saved the night for me a little bit for many reasons this was in a sense kind of like Jason Stathem's movie Crank where he needs adrenaline to stay alive but with this movie Beckinsale needs a jolt of electricity to suppress her anger. For which I wished, I would have those kinds of devices if I had to put up with stupid people. Anyway when I watched a good thirty minutes of the movie I was like "wow, this doesn't seem to bad" for many reasons it’s a bit bizarre and shocking that you almost feel bad on the character but when the twist and turns come around then you just don't know what to think So, enough talk let’s talk about Jolt.

                         A bouncer (Kate Beckinsale) with an anger management problem goes on a furious and resentful rampage after the murder of a friend.

                         I will say this, that this was a breath of fresh air. For many reasons, that it was so ridiculous and strangely shocking but yet it was a good move when it came to saving movie night for me, especially when I sit through the miserable hours of Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard. Kate Beckinsale does a great job in making you feel for the character moreover doing the insane fights that I was like well, this bring back some great memories with the first two Underworld movies. The story surprisingly enough does a good job in explaining the who premise of Beckinsale's character and what she can do so I really have no criticism of what the film is because this is a clear definition of mindless action, and so it is, what it is so, hell Jai Courtney is in the movie so whenever you see his name on the credits you know this is either going to be stupid, or stupid good especially when he's barely in it much. So if your ever having a bad day or feel like you just watched a bad movie that makes you so mad you want to punch something, I would highly recommend watching Jolt because this is one of those movies that you can breathe easily and say that this was a much better movie than Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard.  

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard

 

                       Do you ever get the feeling when you have a typical movie night but all of a sudden you movie night feels trashed all because of the movie, then you just feel so angry you don't know how to describe that anger? Well this was one of those movie nights we're I felt my night was ruined and I had to find a backup plan quickly, but well get to that later. Usually there are times when you look at a sequel to an awesome movie with two actors who provided great chemistry work, you'd think if they couldn't go wrong. Well, unfortunately there comes a time where you should just quit while your ahead when making a smash hit like The Hitman's Bodyguard. Though sadly, director Patrick Hughes really should of made the decision to quite while you’re still ahead because really when you try so hard to make a sequel better than the first you always know you’re going to fail. Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson return for the sequel with Salma Hayek along for the ride. Regrettably there's a famous saying "Two's a company, Three's a crowd" that's best going to describe why this isn't as amazing as the original.

                       The World’s most lethal couple--bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) and hit man Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson)--are back for another life threatening mission Still unlicensed (which is weird because I assumed he was going to be licensed after the first movie ended) and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius's even more volatile wife (Salma Hayek). Soon, all three are in over their heads when a madman's sinister plot threatens to leave Europe into chaos.

                       This movie is a clear definition of sequels never being as good as the original was. And the sad thing was, that I actually thought this was going to be good and then I watch the movie and I'm just thinking to myself "I can't believe, I'm still watching this" It wasn't the fact that yes Sam Jackson can save a film as always but there really wasn't enough of Sam Jackson and I wanted more of Sam Jackson making fun of Ryan Reynolds because that's what made the original film great. But no we have to split the difference with both Sam and Salma Hayek, which deep down is really not as fun, furthermore the jokes aren't even funny as well especially when you have a character like Frank Grillo whose supposed to be this Boston agent in Interpol and makes trash talk with a Scottish female agent, in which I would apply to Grillo "don't quite your day job". The one plot hole which doesn't make sense to me is that Reynolds character is still unemployed for which I would think he was employed and yet was haunted by Kincaid but yet he's still unemployed and what happened to his girlfriend from the first movie? Moreover why would I ever want to feel sorry for Reynolds character when the movie is telling me to feel sorry for this guy, since were giving a little side origin story about him, which is why I'm going to say this a million times when it comes to this movie never cut screen time with Samuel L. Jackson, you should always give that man a hundred percent of the screen time no matter how bad you movie is. Even Morgan Freeman doesn't save this movie, in which if I was making this movie I would have him at least explain the whole movie, but Freeman is another clear example of how lazy a movie can be especially when Freeman is playing Reynolds Dad furthermore are making the usual joke of a character that is white who just so happens to have a Dad that's black, because the movie is trying to desperately explain that we've never seen that before, especially when the punch line of the joke says the son is adopted. Now I hopefully explained how bad this movie was and hope that I saved you into not wanting to watch this movie. But yet this was a movie that still angers me in thinking about but luckily, I found another movie to watch that took a little bit of the steam out of me, but that conversation will have to continue for another time. 

Football Recommendation: What Carter Lost

 

                    

                          Football season is finally here and we're all excited, I hope. Well, as for finding a Football film worth recommending it’s kind of hard to take a good look at some of them and say this is worth recommending but yet you find out that there's not another one recommending in the foreseeable future. So, with some of the Documentaries that ESPN's 30 for 30 has done, well I guess this one I believe is the better version of when it comes to HS Football in Texas was like, well have to do. What Carter Lost is basically a retelling of the opponent team Dallas Carter that won against Odessa Permian the main architype for the bestseller Friday Night Lights, if I can find any words to describe this more of a Greek Tragedy, but most importantly surprising the very people who don't expect much, and sure I know it sounds corny but when you get the chance to ever watch something like this on Hulu or ESPN Plus you'd be amazed of what went down. 

                          What Carter Lost, directed by Adam Hootnick for ESPN Films 30 for 30 series, is the saga of that team, the 1988 Dallas Carter Cowboys. Somehow, Carter managed to win it all on the field, and somehow, they threw it all away.

                          In all honesty what I like most about this story is that it’s a hundred percent fact and doesn't over dramatizes the events that took place, unlike the movie or the TV Show in which it just overdramatize so much little things that really shouldn't be overdramatic and to be fair I have nothing against the movie itself I just wish they simply told the truth when it comes what happen to Odessa Permian and Dallas Carter and not just say oh these two teams meet in the State Championship when they really meet in the semi-finals and hell even the Book itself explains that these two teams played against each other in the semi-finals so I clearly don't understand why Hollywood would even say hey let’s make this better and say these two will meet in the State Championship. Anyway, enough talk back to the documentary itself, when I say that this story is a Greek tragedy meaning this was the definition of a HS Football team winning it all, but yet letting the ego lifestyle those player been carrying throughout their life take a holed of them and do the most unthinkable thing they could ever imagine and sure you can use different point of views as to why they would do such thing or what would pose them to make these bad choices but in the end it's really unexplainable because when Football is such a big thing in the heart of Texas it's really no secret of how much rock star royalty theses students get and probably still do now which sure it does sound weird because there's other sports to follow when it comes to Texas but deep down I'm from Nebraska so, I can't deny that I will ever understand it. So, in closing if your ever in the mood for a football film to watch in days were they're is not any games on I would recommend What Carter Lost because no matter how much I can trash on how terrible the show of Friday Night Lights was this was probably the only side-story, other than Friday Night Lights story as a whole that I can look at and say they speak the honest truth about what when down in Texas.  

                         

Reminiscence

 

                               Lisa Joy co-creator of Westworld also married to Jonathan Nolan whose brother is Christopher Nolan, who decided to finally after three seasons of Westworld decides to make her film debut, and I shamefully say this was kind of, boring to say the least. Look, it not just about the concept idea of what makes the film at first intriguing it’s the list of actors and actresses that failed so badly yes I'm talking about Hugh Jackman the same Wolverine whose only great non-Wolverine film was The Prestige, but let’s face it all this man ever cares about is wanting to dance and sing furthermore wants to act like he's tough but fails so miserably at it. What Reminiscence truly is, is a half and half of Westworld and The Maltese Falcon. And sure as a fan of Chris Nolan and Jonathan Nolan's work I did find this intriguing at first but then I began to feel a little different to it.

                               Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman) is a private investigator of the mind, navigates the darkly alluring world of the past by helping his clients access lost memories. Living on the fringes of the sunken coast of Miami, his life is forever unchanged as he uncovers a violent conspiracy while trying to solve the mystery behind a client who disappeared.

                                In all honesty I give Lisa Joy points for coming up with an intriguing idea. But deep down, this movie kind of when from intriguing to absolute boredom. Now technically this isn't Joy's fault, for many reasons this is really her husband’s fault and her brother in law's fault as well, because while watching this film I am suspecting that the two men lied to her and thought that this was great when deep down they were lying just to make her feel pleased, for which this needs to be clear to all dudes who are married female filmmakers, is to give them your honest opinion don't be a schmuck and lie to them just to make them happy, even if there mad at you just tell them you’re giving your honest opinion because you love them even if it means you have to sleep outside or find a shitty motel. And I'm sorry, but there comes a point where men need to grow a pair of balls and give the love of your life your honest opinion because that's the only way they can make this movie any better, furthermore the way I think of this movie is that the Nolan brothers read the first two drafts and said "I loved it". Hugh Jackman, I honestly can say fails so miserably at life, I mean it doesn't bug me that his character is in love with lady who are both 18 years apart but what bugs me is the fact that his character becomes infatuated with the leading lady in Rebecca Ferguson but wants she leaves or disappears he just has in obsession in finding her all because of one maybe two one night stands for which I'm guessing his character was just thinking with his manhood. And that's why we went on this journey of boredom. Speaking of cast I actually wished Joy would of borrowed her brother in law's casting director because yes Thandie Newton was amazing in Westworld but she played a real boring sidekick and so did the entire cast as well because honestly they all tried to want me to care but I honestly didn't want to care after the hour of the film passed. So, deep down all I can say is that this film is trying to be a entertaining and new update to the film noir genre but it just failed miserably when it comes to storytelling and borrowing a lot of twists and turns from Chris Nolan, furthermore in closing if you want to find something to watch on a movie night I would find something else and pass on Reminiscence for many reasons it’s like going on a journey through the realm of boredom land, but you began to realize that your already in hell.

   

September Recommendation: Promising Young Woman

 

                             There are times were my movie critique knowledge is put to the ultimate test, well in this my September Recommendation this was without a doubt the ultimate test of my movie watching knowledge. I heard about Promising Young Woman though the Academy Awards this year, and was intrigued that the writer/director of the film was pregnant during the making of Promising Young Woman, though sure that sounded like a strange way to be intrigued, but I thought that this woman has some guts to make this happen. Then months past then I saw the film was already out on DVD despite the fact I couldn't find a copy of it on Blu-Ray at Wal-Mart which is weird because I would usually think they would have everything, but he that what happens when you live in the central part of Nebraska. Then I thought to myself ah what the hell, I see what this movie's got see what makes this film amazing and then I watched the whole movie through and I was just shocked and terrified all at once furthermore I thought to myself that I would never in a million years be married and would just stick to being a good person, go to church and never mess with women because you'll never know how crazy they are when you come across one, hell especially when an unknown woman is wanting to follow you and want to be your friend right away despite the fact that you don't know then at all. But re-watching the film again with the Emerald Fennell's commentary in the background I now have in understanding and appreciation for the movie’s ton consider this one of the greatest movies of all time in my book.

                            Nothing in Cassie's (Carey Mulligan) life is what it appears to be -- she's wickedly smart, tantalizing cunning, and she's living a secret double life by night. Now, an unexpected encounter is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs from the past.

                            I knew that this was some kind of rape revenge film, but what I didn't expect this was going to take a lot of psychological toll to my brain moreover not going to lie when I say this but through the course of watching the film for the very first time my mouth never shut back up because of how shocking and somewhat disturbed with fear. And Mulligan's character was just terrifying that I would never in a million years want to cross a woman like her. Speaking of Carey Mulligan, yes this is another movie of hers that I'm recommending in my monthly recommendation but this is her best work ever, this is probably one of the many movies that I look at and say this was her best, she really dives into the role of a woman who is so angered by the injustice of how people look the other way when it comes to rape, and the way she's able to terrorize her victims is just freighting but yet ingenious at the same time. Deep down what makes this film amazing as well is that Fennell's does a great job of creating a revenge film but toning it to a much realistic tone and not including the gun for which I think makes it more interesting for many reasons just killing the person is way too easy and nothing scares people more than exposing them of their darkest secrets or making feel the worst fears they can possibly imagine.  I didn't realize this at first when watching the movie for the second time with the director's commentary and it makes sense that Fennell's was making this as a biblical/Greek tragedy, for which there's a lot of moments where I see a lot of resemblance of the crucifixion's or Cassie having a Halo hovered around her, and to be honest I like the fact that Mulligan's character is given her victims the choice of forgiveness or punishment. Alright, now let’s talk about Emerald Fennell, I honestly don't know a whole lot about her other than she's a writer on a BBC show called Killing EVE and a actress on the Netflix show The Queen, but after watching her film debut I now can know all I need to know in a good way possible. The fact that she was able to create a story that's a breath of fresh air, but most of all giving the film a dark sense of humor along with creating a set environment that springs bright colors and yet shows you the dark and harshness of what comes into the world of Promising Young Woman. Moreover the fact that Fennell included Paris Hilton's song Stars are Blind deserves a lifetime of bonus points because yes I recognized a lot of pop songs in the movie but I never thought in a million years I would hear that song again. Speaking of music, Anthony Willis does a fantastic job as well creating an eerie and creepy themed music to the whole music because yes as we all know the things that happen in the movie are just wrong and shocking but holy crap watching the film for the first time and hearing the music just gave me chills beyond relief. I know the people who seen this film will tell you that this wasn't what they'd hoped to be because we'd all hope for poetic justice, but in all honesty I look at this film differently and just think that the idea that you would have to live with the things you did, that you'd wished to forget I think that's more worse than death furthermore having your life ruined is a much better revenge than just death. So, listen if you’re looking for something new and different I can't promise you that this will give you the ending you would want but I promise you, you'll be shocked and terrified until the final frame. 

   

The Suicide Squad

 

                             I'm a little burned out of Warner Bro's trying to revamp the DC Universe into live action films, so sorry not sorry when I say that I haven't seen Zach Snyder's Cut of the Justice League right away or the latest Suicide Squad. Well, as fate would reach out to extend its hand, I was told that it was a great movie and should look at the film. Staring familiar cast of characters, such as Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, and Joel Kinnaman. With newcomers like Idris Elba, Sylvester Stallone, the ever great and talented Peter Capaldi and a man I feel disgusted in saying because this is only great film so here it goes, John Cena, and let’s be honest this is his only film worth seeing because Cena is a side character in this film. Though sure Cena's not the only one who’s terrible at his job but aside from Jai Courtney and Pete Davidson but while watching this I'll admit there were moments that gave me a more satisfying glimpse of Hope. So, without further ado let’s talk about the Suicide Squad.

                             Kind of like the first film in terms of storyline goes, only this time Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) summons Task Force X to take down a government that's dealing with something that's out of this world needless to say but let’s not forget something dangerous. 

                              In terms of comic book series and ideas, the Suicide Squad is one of the most ingenious ideas DC comics has ever created, furthermore in terms of bringing this to the big screen it's also one of the most simplest ideas as well in a great example just think of this as the Justice League combined with the dirty dozen. And that right there is how you should always see the Suicide Squad as, but the 2016 film they tried to make this more of a cookie cutter film and marketing it for everyone to watch and that something you should never do with a movie like this. And thank the good Lord, James Gunn came along to give this movie a clean slate, because this was a hundred percent better than that 2016 film for many reasons this is more violent and more deranged than the other film plus its marketed in the right way possible then the last film. Even if you’re not a huge comic book guy or gal, the movie itself explains all the rules for you when it comes to the Suicide Squad especially when they have to follow orders or they die furthermore a ton of betrayal comes into this movie as well. I think of all of the actors that are in the film Idris Elba really stands out of all of them, for many reasons I always think of him as the underappreciative Denzel Washington, because he always delivers in role's like this and then he get shoved off of the table and really this is one of those great roles where he shows off his acting chops even more, also he makes fun of John Cena so what can't you not love about him in this film. Viola Davis as always is a gifted actress and really owns the character of Amanda Waller and the same goes to Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn though if I had to give some props to a recurring character return, it would be Joel Kinnaman as Col. Flag and he at least gave a improved performance than the last time he was Flag but this time he at least gave him more of a sense of humor and not always being serious all the time which I thought he did a great job. But deep down if there was anyone who I would declared stealing the entire film in the right way, was the ever great and talented Peter Capaldi as the thinker and despite the fact that he was only in the film for a short time he made a powerhouse of a scene and brought me back to a time when he was amazing in shows like the thick of it and Doctor Who furthermore In The Loop. Hands down in terms of the best DC Universe movies since the end of the Dark Knight Trilogy I would say both Wonder Woman and The Suicide Squad are both even at number one, and despite this film being amazing as it, its thanks to James Gunn weirdness and incorporating elements from Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s probably the only one superhero film worth seeing this year, because deep down I have little high hopes for Marvels next upcoming films and don't really see the need. 

  

Capone

 

                            I'm going to be brutally honest with you when I say this, but I did not expect what I witnessed when watching this latest film of the legendary gangster Al Capone, I honestly didn't think this was going to turn into what I thought it would be which is where going through the rise and fall of Al Capone with Tom Hardy at the helm. Unfortunately, this turned into the last furthermore his final days of his life and sorry not sorry about spoilers his health was going down the crapper and not figuratively more literally if you know what I mean. But I'm not going to lie when I say this in case I'm repeating myself I really thought this was going to be like Legend the last Mob movie that Tom Hardy did, regrettably this is just in hour and forty-eight-ish minutes of a great actor like Tom Hardy playing a Al Capone just a few maybe weeks till he kicks the bucket. Now god bless my aging Uncle right now whose living in a retirement home, who is down syndrome and has Alzheimer's disease and deep down watching this all the way through it felt like watching my uncle whom I had to help my mom and dad take care of furthermore not that I'm complaining but if I'm really interested in watching that last moments of a person's life I would just live them right now, instead of watching a man like Al Capone in his final days coming to an end.

                          So as I said before the film is about the final days or maybe months to Al Capone finally kicking the bucket while have some subplot points where the FBI doesn't believe he's dying and Capone is having hallucinations of his past. That's pretty much the plot so, yeah.

                          Now having not realized what this movie was, I guess it wouldn't have been fun then I thought. And I know that your all going to look at me like what is this person talking about but deep down I thought this was a laughable movie about a man's final days and Tom Hardy chewing the entire scenery up to where the entire movie set is no more and let’s not forget shitting his own pants and while in the bed. But what also makes this film kind of funny is that there few moments where I'm getting a lot of Fight Club, to where everything is not real especially Matt Dillon's character in which I don't even know why he's in it at all for only reason I can think of right now is that he believes in his own mind that he's tough and wants to proof that to the writer/director of the movie but will get to him in a little bit. Then there's the side plot of the story where the Feds are tapping into Capone's phones because they believe that he's faking it for some bizarre sense moreover they know he's hiding a big stash of money somewhere and they want to find it and granted Capone has done some horrible things but he's dying! Furthermore the fact that they don't believe is somewhat laughable because well the Feds work for the government and no doubt stupid but holy crap if you haven't seen this guy's condition I would of been that guy to just say "THE MAN IS DYING YOU MORONS, GET A GOOD LOOK AT HIM BEFORE YOU THINK OF ANY THING IDIOTIC, JUST LET THE MAN DIE IN PEACE AND LET GOD DECIDE OF HIS FATE". And in all honesty if or FBI can't understand that concept then there's a good reason why our country is not in the best condition for many reasons we have way to many stupid people who I believe need to leave in stay in Antarctica. Now in my honest defense what I didn't expect in finding out is that the director of Capone was none other than Josh Trank aka the director of Fan4stic who I may have heard that he was high while making Fan4stic, in which I was blown out of my mind when I found out because I didn't realize he was getting more work, though I applauded him when it came to making a different type of gangster movie and giving me a few laughs along the way. Now was this a movie that should have been made. No, for many reasons but this is one of those films that was completely unnecessary to make because nobody wants to see a well-crafted actor like Tom Hardy shit himself on screen, but it was also Lawrence Bender aka Quentin Tarantino producing buddy through Quentin's earlier films, to even give a guy like Trank money to make this film happen in the first place but on a positive spin to this it was amazingly funny to watch, just to see Hardy chew up the entire film set. So, if you want to have a laugh I would highly suggest watching Capone but if you don't want to that completely fine, but as the Blu-Ray copy that I have well, at least it’s going to stay in a special place with the first two Black Scorpion films as it should or if not I'll secretly build an Ark of the Covenant.

       

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

 

                               When I was a kid and received my first PlayStation 2 system, one of the first of many games I've ever played moreover didn't stop playing were anything Star Wars because well, as we all know if you were a teenager like me and when the prequals came out that was pretty much the only thing I was consumed in playing I didn't need any God of War or Grand Theft Auto all I need are Star Wars games. And sure through the course of each system there's been less of Star Wars games to play but I have to say replaying this game was as always fun to play but also having great knowledge about life and struggles when overcoming the fears we have with ourselves. Moreover once I get to what makes this game amazing, I will hopefully convince people of the Star Wars fanbase that when you’re a young age you'd always think that the Sith and Empire were the coolest but deep down were all Jedi when it comes to goodness. 

                               Set five years after the fall of the Republic and the Jedi Purge, young Jedi Cal Kestis is hiding from the Empire in a distant planet salvaging ships from the Clone Wars, unfortunately after saving a friend. Sith enforcers also knowns as Inquisitors track him down, but later rescued by a fallen Jedi and a Caption of the Stinger Mantis. Cal begins to learn that there is hope for the Jedi and goes on a quest of a lifetime for which decides the fate of the Jedi but also discovers what it truly means to be a Jedi.

                                At first I'll admit when I first played the game I was hoping to play the some of the meditation training unfortunately you have to beat the game in order to play that part but through the course of playing the story mode I have to admit while going through the course of the journey I didn't get the whole meaning of being a Jedi until after I finished playing the game and felt like wow. My mind was just blown, and truly deep down when you think about it when you’re a star wars fan at a young age you'd always loved the Empire mainly because they were the perfected costumed antagonists furthermore guys like Darth Vader were always shrouded in mystery where you don't know where they came from, and granted I still look at Darth Vader as my all-time favorite character but when you get to a mature age like I've become, you realize that oh I don't want to be what the Sith is, because of all the pain and suffering you have to endure and the madness that goes with in while a Jedi shows more meaning to life especially when you’re looking at yourself in the mirror, and one of the meaningful words of wisdom is when there cutting to one of the many flashbacks in the game for an upgrade to your character you hear who I look as the greatest Jedi Master Jaro Tapal during a training young Cal says "I just keep failing, Master" and Tapal reply's "Do you? Good. Keep failing, keep getting back up. That is the only way to succeed. Don't allow yourself to be weighed down by ego and pretense. Let go of what you fear to lose and rise up." Hell, if years of Catholic teachings haven't taught you anything about life thank God Star Wars is able to guide you along the way. Furthermore that's really the one true reason why Star Wars is the greatest Sci-Fi/Fantasy of all time, there just know franchise in the world that can give you a deeper meanings towards life and general plus create some great stories as well and translate them to movies, tv shows and games. So, if you’re ever waiting on getting a PS5, I would highly recommend digging this game out or if you don't have it. At least purchase this great game and play it and master the ways of the Force. And for the record, I am replaying the game right now because I want to be the final boss with on try instead of having to die all the time.   

  

August Recommendation: The Little Things

 

                                This little film I'm recommending for the month of August, is in all honesty a different take on the homicidal mystery, though to be fair the film itself does take a predictability when it comes to whose the killer and whose not the killer, and sure you're going to be unknown in terms of your emotions, but deep down The Little Things is a nice and different look when it comes to homicide cops. Staring Academy Award winner Denzel Washington in one of his few roles where he actually looks the part when it comes to age difference, along with other Academy Award winners such as Rami Malek and Jared Leto who'd you'd think might be the prime suspects but as I said before you may think but you don't know, knowing is not at all half the battle in truthfulness.

                                 Deputy Sheriff Joe "Deke" Deacon (Denzel Washington) joins forces with Sgt. Jim Baxter (Rami Malek) to search for Serial Killer whose terrorizing Los Angeles. As they track the culprit, Baxter is unaware that the investigation is dredging up echoes of Deke's past, uncovering disturbing secrets that could threaten more than his case.

                                  I believe most of the murder mystery films I've seen are always somewhat of the buddy cop movie, some are usually the ones where the cop solves the case but isn't the same person anymore, or the ones where it's both a murder mystery but with a gangster twist in the mix. This one feels more like a cop film with a mix of PTSD, and having a hard grasp towards the madness of murder, and honestly what I like about the film is that it shows a much more different twist instead of the usual ending or scenario's when it comes to murder mystery genre. This is probably the first time in a while I've seen Denzel acting in his realistic age, meaning he looks the part of his character in this film and as always, he's still amazing when it comes to acting on screen. Both Rami Malek and Jared Leto are both great as well I think as some thought, I assumed that one of them were the killer because each of them looks so creepy and weird but luckily my prediction wasn't all truth. I will admit by the end of the movie I didn't know what my emotions were telling me to feel but after a brief discussion, I admit this was a great character/actor driven film where the main attraction are the ones carrying the movie together so if your trying to find a good movie to watch on a certain movie night then I would defiantly check this movie out on HBO Max furthermore, promise you'll not be disappointed.

   

The Room

 

                            

                           You know what make YouTube the greatest thing on earth? Because it’s the only thing ever where you can find a movie like this, for which I'm talking about Tommy Wiseau's The Room. And I had to admit I was a bit worried about how I was going to take this moreover I did felt scared in watching the movie as well, but then once I watched the first fifteen minutes of the film, it surprisingly wasn't all bad, I mean sure this movie was no doubt bad on so many levels but it was more like mesmerizingly bad more like I thought of myself as a scientist or a psychiatrist and am curious in studying Wiseau's brain while he's still alive talking and yet I'm still haven't got answers in the end. Though I'm going to say this before I begin to talk about the movie, when you think about the movie and all of its un-natural flaws, you have to look at this poster that's on here and think to yourself "okay I understand him now". For many reasons, that face alone explains a thousand words all together, either that man couldn't get enough money to create a more reasonable image to promote the film or he'd really thought he was super awesome and decided to promote the film with just his face on the cover, but before he was able to do that, got really wasted furthermore came in late and looked like s**t moreover just looked at the photograph and said "It works".  So that's my two cents on the poster because while I'm typing this review, I just can't stop looking at it, it's just so mesmerizing. But on a serious note let’s talk about this infamous bad movie that everyone considers the worst movie ever made?

                            The way I can describe the movie is that it’s basically a over-dramatic soap opera, in which the story centers around a love triangle, in which a woman deceives two best friends into hating each other so she can get what she wants in the end, which is all I can say hell I don't know I'm no Shakespeare.

                           Okay so back to what I was saying about this film being not all bad, when I said it not being all bad what I meant to say that this wasn't really the worst I've ever seen in my whole life but let’s be frank I've seen a lot of crap from movies like Roller Gator, Fifty Shades of Grey, Gone with the Wind, Blade Runner 2049 and I'm just going to throw this in for s**t's and giggle's, J.J. Abrams Star Wars Trilogy 7-9. And honestly that's just the cherry topper there's other bad movies I can name unfortunately I really don't have the time, this movie alone is just bewildering bad that I was just so confused of what is going on from the story and what the characters are thinking, moreover getting some giggles out of the over the top dramatic moments. But also while watching this film I already had certain moments of how I wanted to fix this movie despite the fact that this film was already made, like why don't Lisa blackmail Mark into forcing him to have sex with her so she can do whatever the hell she wants, plus being a crazy woman, or why couldn't there be a twist at the end of Mark just having enough of this madness and telling Johnny that Lisa forced him into having sex so that way he can expose how crazy of a monster she is, see PROBLEM SOLVED. Unfortunately, this film is already made so really it doesn't matter. Now I've did my research and heard a lot of tales prior to looking up the Disaster Artist on Wikipedia, and I would think yeah it does make sense in terms of what was going on set, moreover Wiseau's egotism exploding  every day while shooting the movie or the fact that he didn't give a script to any of his own cast as well, or that everyone realized that the film itself wasn't going to see the light of day so that's the why everyone didn't give a hundred percent performance, which makes sense but deep down what was more fascinating was that Wiseau thinking that he was awesome and that he was making in his mind the greatest movie of all time, when clearly it shows that he didn't know how to make a movie, though if your trying to make your first movie happen you need to understand a few things, starting with you don't know anything all you have to do is make the best movie you can make, be the caption of the movie set even lead your troops into battle and most importantly be reasonable to your actors in terms of giving them what they and not giving them what they want, but to really sum it all up you need to be the leader every day of your life if you want to make your first film moreover your entire future. Which in all honesty reminds me of a interview I watched of Matt Hannon aka Samurai Cop where he talks about the time he was on set with director Amir Shervan and Hannon states in his own words of how miserable it was to work with Shervan moreover how he himself didn't give a hundred percent performance in the film but yet Amir put it on camera. Bottom line this film isn't the worst I've seen even though the film is bad is just not the worst thing I've seen, but the film really needs to be seen as a lesson tool for any eager filmmaker or writer that wants to make it big, because what this film provides, is an ego check to the very soul of that person who leads. I do say that once this insanity is over Dr. Fauci needs to do in experiment on the human mind of bad filmmakers like Neil Breen Uwe Boll and Michael Bay on why they are and what made them this way.   

                                  

Lying and Stealing

 

                              Typical movie night, browsing through Netflix, then I spotted the ever-beautiful SI Swimsuit model Emily Ratajkowski, and to be fair as a guy I'd thought that this would be more intriguing than her last film We are your Friends. Though, I than began to realize through the course of the movie, it really wasn't going to be as good as I hoped it would be. The film as you already know is entitled Lying and Stealing, and the film stars Theo James who was in the Divergent movies and, well the Divergent movies and Emily Ratajkowski who I admit as a guy when I saw the cover on Netflix I myself was like "ooh so pretty". Although there was one actor I did recognized in the movie and that was the guy that played Micro in the first season of The Punisher, and shamefully that was it. And in a certain way the film itself has some unique and creative ways when it comes to stealing art, although the film just slowly begins to lose its touch till the final fade to black and end credits. So, anyway let’s talk about the dire consequences of Lying and Stealing.

                            Ivan Warding (Theo James) is a thief, who specializes in stealing art from the elite of Los Angeles. He is obliged to a crime boss and wants to get out of the business. Elyse Tibaldi (Emily Ratajkowski) is an in-debt aspiring actress who is also a con woman. Together they plot one last heist and con that will set both free from their obligations. 

                            On a positive note I have when it comes to the movie, is the creative ways of the stealing of the art sequences it does. Give a great example the first heist that James character does I was oh that makes sense, so granted this is a fictionalized movie but I like the ways the character is able to use realistic ways to get in and out especially when it’s a one man crew and if my memory is correct he does at least two heist in the film and some of the unique ways he's able to pull off each heist I have to admit is pretty cool in how he's able to get away from it. Now that's pretty much it when it comes to the positive side of the movie, because the story itself moreover the direction of the movie goes it was really hard to take serious and I myself thought that this would be a hidden gem but deep down it just wasn't going to be as good as I hoped it would be. Theo James is a decent actor, but in just really doesn't provide the typical good-looking guy that the male audience can look at and root for, and the same goes to our leading lady. I'm sure that Emily is a strong woman in real life but when it comes to a movie like this all she is, is eye candy and all honesty I didn't think she could hold her own as I hoped she would. And when it comes to the story and direction of the movie I just found it so lackluster and more meh to the whole thing especially when one of the heist is come from stealing off a guy who collects Nazi memorabilia, and really now thinking about it I call so many fouls with that concept for many reasons I refuse to believe there's a man out there that lives all by himself and collects things from Nazi Germany because how are you able to explain that to insurance agents or hell even your own tax returns or any person in the whole world, that there's a man or woman out there who has a Nazi collection especially when that person has one of Hitler's paintings, in fact how the hell are you even going to sell that anyway? Ah well, just certain stuff like therefore this movie didn't reach my enthusiasm. The antagonist in the movie I didn't find very threatening at all especially when he's forcing Emily to take part of her dress off and force her to sit on her lap it just looked really weird moreover very sleazy from the look of it. Um, so deep down the film does well in terms intrigues and creativity it sometimes hits high but at the end the film just ends up with shooting itself in the leg. I get it was trying to be the different take of the Thomas Crown affair, but I would of suggest trying to make itself something new. So, if you’re in the mood for a movie like this on Netflix, just walk away because this really wasn't worth watching. 

        

Spider-Man: Miles Moreales

 

                             Originally, I bought the latest Spider-Man game on the PS5 because I figured I would be able to purchase a PlayStation 5 by now. But with this insanity we're still in plus the ability of picking the right time to purchase one well, let’s just say it's probably going to be a while thankfully I don't have to worry about Assassin's Creed Valhalla because I haven't even finished Assassin's Creed Odyssey yet. So, for now I figured why not at least give a chance in playing it on the PS4. And truth be told the game itself did not disappoint me at all. Also, to give everyone up to par this does not focus on the Spider-Man we all know and love it goes to the other Spider-Man who got his big break from the into the Spider verse film, Miles Morales.  In retro spec is more of an edger version of Spider-Man kind of like a John Shaft of Spider-Man. So, let’s get talking about this latest story game to Spider-Man.

                            Following the events of the first Spider-Man game, Miles Morales is doing the best of his abilities filling in for Peter Parker as he leaves for a trip with Mary Jane. Though things start to get a little dramatic when old friends show up and Miles Uncle whom he never seen in a while looks him up. But as we all know when it comes to city of New York there's not rest for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. 

                            I will always say this, Insomniac Games stands tall as developing the best version of Spider-Man, just like Rocksteady stands tall when it comes to developing the best Batman game. In all honesty I can't really decide which is better between the original Spider-Man and this latest version for many reasons they're both great in their own way, each of them posse the great way to spend time in New York, fighting bad guys moreover finding some great ways to research some unique sounds for beat melody's. A side from all of the fun side mission's and the story line I will say probably the fun things in the game was the fact that I can go in to camouflage mode and all of my enemies are like what where did he go, which in all honesty if I had that ability I would make tones of Predator sounds for not reason just to screw with everybody. I do like the relationship between Miles and his uncle aka The Prowler in this game more than the Spider verse film, mainly because its Miles who at first gets to know his own uncle and then gives him in open mind about how the world needs to be better than what it was. So, all and all not a whole lot to say because the game itself is a same structure content like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. But still a great game from start to finish and I personally can't wait for the next Spider-Man game to come out so to all gamers if you haven't got a PS5 yet, then I would suggest picking this game up on the PS4 just to pass the time until your able to buy a PS5. 

    

Assassins Creed 1 and 2 Replay Review

 

      

                    Been doing a sort of retro game replay through some of my video games I have over the years and I figured what better way of doing a replay review then to play one of my favorite open world stealth games Assassin's Creed. In my entire PlayStation gaming I can't think of any other than Mortal Kombat or the new Doom series, that I can point to and say I can stay in this world all day and never get tired of it, and Assassin's Creed was that game where the stealth game play is so simple that even a newbie whose had a hard time with other stealth games can play this one and say is amazing, moreover give a great example I do remember playing the Hitman games and although I do love Absolution and some moments of Blood Money, and I'll throw in the original 2007 Hitman movie but from a gamer's stand point of enjoyability I really didn't feel like wanting to replay this again. And going back and replaying the first game it just felt like you were stepping back into a world that was so amazing in terms of visuals and being able to do things that you necessarily can't do per-say when it comes to game play and storytelling, moreover you get to live in the Crusades era if that's not exciting enough when it comes to video games I don't know what is. And the same goes with Assassin's Creed 2, hell after watching the Showtime series, The Borgias I've now just got my history lesson furthermore began to see how awesome being in Renaissance Italy was.

                  The story itself centers around Desmond Miles, who is kidnapped by Abstergo Industries and is forced to live the memories of his Ancestors who were once part of a secret organization called the Assassin's, who stand for the free will of all mankind and are preventing total dominance of Templar control who in their minds through the course of each game you get to relive the Crusades era and the Renaissance era of history. 

                   I remember the first time seeing a copy of the first Assassin's Creed game and I was just thinking to myself wow I get to relive in the Crusades and granted this was 2007 furthermore was and still a huge fan of Kingdom of Heaven, so I'm sure your well aware of why I decided to buy it, though while playing I noticed a lot of references with some of the parkour movies (hence Casino Royale 2006) moreover I was like wow this is kind of cool almost like a ninja clan with hidden blades and doing a lot of Parkour. Though as always, I sometimes get tired of the game, so I put it back on the shelf to gather dust. Until the sequel came around I was like wow this is branching out in ways I can't even imagine especially when you involve historical figures like Leonardo Da Vinci who helps out the protagonist, while you have Rodrigo Borgia aka Pope Alexander IV as the main antagonist moreover again after finishing The Borgias a year ago I was pumped in terms of reexperiencing that part of history. Though to be fair in 2009 I never understood the concept of open world games and I do say replaying these games now I have to say this was really fun to do, when it came to getting upgrades and improving your fighting style. Ezio has always been the example of the hero's journey, though in all honesty I do wished I get to experience more story and adventures with Altair because he was the original Assassin and I'd like to see more of where his story goes next instead of just reading books or playing portable gaming moreover researching him on Wikipedia, but in all honesty you can't win them all so not that I'm complaining for many reasons I have to replay Revelations as well so well have to wait and see. I did see a lot of differences between both games, the first was really just a simple game that was clearly supposed to be a quick project almost like what the first Mortal Kombat game was in terms of development where there was nothing fancy also takes a lot of time to master the surroundings, but still a fun game when you get the chance to understand the story. The second game the possibilities are almost endless where you can do almost anything and relive events that happened, in which me I was like "oh I had no idea I can do this", especially when it came to remodeling your own headquarters, even though I had a hard time finding all of the feathers and in all truthfulness didn't want to replay the game all because of trying to find all of the feathers so maybe another time when I feel like it. I will say Assassin's Creed is defiantly in my top five of favorite game series it’s one of the greatest when it comes to stealth action and amazing when it comes to opening a whole world moreover getting a history lesson along the way. Moreover, without Assassin's Creed, open world gameplay wouldn't be successful as we move forward into the future of gaming. Well now back to playing Brotherhood furthermore bear with me when I say this is going to take some time to play and finish. 

RiffTrax: Rollergator

 

                          Now when I said last review about taking a short break on movies, well I didn't realize what I was getting myself into when watching this funny and yet a monstrosity. I'll also give a better description I figured well I'm getting tired of some of the movies I've been watching, so I figured well I might take the time in the world to watch some of my favorite episodes from the greatest American television show, Mystery Science Theater 3000, but I'll also take a look at some of the RiffTrax films Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy spoofed that landed on YouTube for some reason. Well I don't know how to describe what I'm reviewing but other than stating that this was funny all the way through but I couldn't believe I was watching something that was nearly bad and horrible as Freddy Got Fingered, though granted I've never seen Freddy Got Fingered but I've heard a lot of stories of how bad the movie was and I'm just going to take their word for it. And before I go any further, I just want to state though how much I worship both Mike Bill and Kevin for showing me the world of Mystery Science theater 3000 I feel bad for those guys experiencing this movie. 

                          All I can honestly tell you is that it’s about a puppet alligator, Joe Estevez, a sort of Ninja on a skateboard, and one crazy LSD adventure.

                          As great of fans I am of both Mystery Science Theater 3000 and lately Rifftrax, I must say while watching this movie with the commentary, I was in a sense humored but felt really bad for Mike, Bill and Kevin for many reasons I really felt their own pain and suffering while sitting through this film. Even I was just bewildered moreover was starting to get a massive headache while watching the whole f**king film. Hell, even Mike and Bill quoted and said, "I'm calling it: this is THE worst movie we've ever done at RiffTrax. Ladies and gentlemen, ROLLERGATOR.", "ROLLERGATOR! There are no words -- no human words -- to describe it. So, I simply restate, ROLLERGATOR. I am sorry." I'm now putting foot down and stating this in my own words I do not believe that Joe Estevez and Martin Sheen are related, I just can't believe that for many reasons they're can be no possible way that these two can look at each other when it comes to Thanksgiving or Christmas and look in degust of how their film career is going moreover can take themselves serious as well. So, in closing because the more I talk about this movie I will probably get lost in my own rambling, I now see this as a competition with Freddy Got Fingered as the most abomination film ever, though without the Rifftrax commentary, so yeah so far I think that covers everything other than just stay away from this movie unless it contains the Rifftrax commentary for which it has on YouTube, but I would not recommend it, in all honesty.

                            

July Recommendation: The Dig

 

                                  There are times when you need a few weeks off in some ways need a refreshers, and that's really what I've been kind of doing moreover I was having some troubles finding some good monthly recommendations as well, And luckily with a little help from my friends I actually found a movie that was really good furthermore worth the recommendation. The Dig, staring Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes as two individuals on the eve of World War II, uncovering a something beyond history in the making. Now there was another film on the runner up seat but in deep down sense I don't think up there with this film for many reasons it up holds in the acting range moreover I think gives a great message about living life through history and the people around you. So, enough talk for many reasons I don't want to over talk about a great movie I've just seen and give too much details.

                                 In the late 1930's, wealthy landowner Edith Pretty (Carey Mulligan) hires amateur archaeologist Basil Brown (Ralph Fiennes) to investigate the mounds on her property in England. He and his team discover a ship from the Dark Ages while digging up a burial ground. 

                                 Now I've been a lifelong Indiana Jones fan since my entire childhood, so this doesn't bother me when I say that this was the most realistic film about Archaeology though let’s be honest we all know the Indiana Jones film series is all fantasy. You can really take away both Mulligan and Fiennes performances and it would simply be just a simple English film. For which, is honestly true because I don't think I would of got into this film more if it wasn't for Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes because each of them deliver a tremendous performance of two people who for some purpose believe in each other that they would help one in another furthermore giving the people around them life lessons about the struggles and the difficulty life can give you when you’re not ready for them and really both of Fiennes and Mulligan should deserve some great Oscar recognition in next year’s Academy Awards although that's probably going to be left out because let’s face it the Awards are really a popularity contest. I will say Lily James does some great work in this film as well, and I personally think it would be unfair to leave her out for many reasons she's a great actress (probably one of my few favorites I like) moreover she does a great job playing the certain love story mix to the film and in all actuality is a nice touch especially when your involving certain elements like World War II for a great example. Hands down, this is one of the best films I've seen in the year 2021, and hopefully I hope you put this on your watchlist for Netflix.
